The 2016 Blancpain GT Series will be the battleground for two important names of italian and international motorsport world this season: Michele Beretta and Andrea Piccini  will share the cockpit of one of Lamborghini Huracan GT3 in the series reserved for GT race cars, the most important in the world.

With the colors of Grasser Racing, the two drivers of 4Motorsport will be at the start of Endurance series, with five events on the most important european circuits, including the legendary 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps; with them, the young german driver Luca Stolz.

Michele Beretta (21 years old) will debut in the prestigious GT championship after the positive experience done in 2014 (with Eurointernational) and 2015 (with Mucke Motorsport) at the wheel of Dallara F312-Mercedes in the FIA F3 European Championship. The young driver from Lecco will have a double programme with Grasser Racing because he will drive the Huracan GT3 also in the Sprint Series, always together Luca Stolz.

For Andrea Piccini, instead, it is a full-time return into a major international context, following the 2011-2012 seasons (Audi works driver and winner of 24 Hours of Spa) and the after (BMW works driver, 2nd overall at Nurburgring 24 Hours) while, in the past two years, the tuscan driver raced in some events Ferrari 458 GT3 for Kessel Racing and AF Corse.

Michele Beretta: “To be in the Blancpain GT Series with an iconic manufacturer such Lamborghini is a fantastic opportunity for me. I tried the Huracan GT3 last November in Vallelunga and, despite the huge differences compared to F3, I got immediately a great feeling with it; this car has more power than Dallara-Mercedes and less downforce, so I’ll have to use a different driving style, but I think I will like it! Share the car with another driver is another new thing for me but this will be with Andrea: we are working together since two years and this will be fantastic in terms of experience and performance.

Andrea Piccini: “I’m happy to return full time at the wheel, especially in a series like thhis which I consider the best in the world. The Huracan GT3 has already proved to be competitive and Grasser Team has done an excellent job over the past two years. Before the fisrt race, we will haveman extensive test program that should enable us to arrive well prepared in Monza, first race of the season; the competition will be tight and FIA’s Balance of Performance is fundamental to understand the true values in the field, but I am confident to fight for the top positions of the series together Michele and Luca.
