The first day at Le Castellet ends with a promising fourth place overall in the free practice for the #19 Grasser Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3, third round of Blancpain Endurance Series. A promising start where Beretta-Piccini-Stolz worked on car setup focused on the high ambient temperature.
Andrea Piccini: “We are satisfied about this first day at Paul Ricard. In the first free practice session we made many efforts working mainly on race pace. 6-hours race is two times long compared to the normal distance the hot temperatures will be the key factor for tires wear, so it will be fundamental to find the setting that allows us to keep our tires in the best conditions, specially the rear left .”
Michele Beretta: “Finally today we were able to find the performance with new tires; We must not forget however, that the qualify is tomorrow and we have about 20 cars in half second, this means that we have no margin for mistakes. I think we have found a good balance for the race although it will be tough, especially in the early hours when the hot track will make tire management very difficult.“
