Sunday to forget for Andrea Piccini in Monza: withdrawn after two contacts with other cars

Everything went wrong for Andrea Piccini and his team mates, Claudio Schiavoni and Sergio Pianezzola, in the homerace last weekend in Monza. During the second event of 2019 European Le Mans Series, due to a contact with a LMP car that attempted an ambitious overtaking of the Kessel Racing drivers, the car was forced to withdrawn just few minutes before the chequered flag. A nightmare race conditioned by crashes, neutralizations and other factors ended in the worst way:

“A Sunday to forget – commented Andrea Piccini – and it was a real shame, because we had an excellent race pace and without any issues like Safety Car, Full Course Yellow and contacts, we could very well ending on the podium“.

The European Le Mans Series will be back on track in Barcelona next July.
